Revd Dr Leonard Asonye Amechi
Dean of Studies and Head of Pastoral CareDr Amechi is not just a preacher and teacher of the word of God; he is also an educationalist and has worked in several schools in London as a teacher for three decades. He holds several qualifications in education, business and finance, and theology. Dr Amechi is a graduate of Greenwich University with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Masters in Education Management (MA). Dr Amechi holds HNC (Business and Finance) and a postgraduate Diploma (DMS) in Business and Finance from Kingston University. In Theology, Dr Amechi holds a Master degree in Theology (MTh) from Bangor University, Wales and PhD in Dogmatics from North-West University in South Africa. His thesis focused on “The Pentecostal challenge to the concept of salvation in Liberation Theology.” He believes that biblical salvation holds the key to effectively challenging the dehumanising influences in contemporary society. He further proffers that Pentecostalism can provide the necessary theological framework to challenge contemporary society’s perceived dehumanising influences.
Dr Leonard Amechi is a church planter. His missionary work has taken him to Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, establishing his Community Outreach brand of mission. He is a philanthropist and has used the churches in Africa to discover, nurture and empower young people to believe they can achieve without limits. Dr Amechi is the CEO of the African Children Foundation (ACF), registered in Sierra Leone, and Karismata Children Trust (KCT), registered in the UK. Dr Amechi is also a writer and has authored “The Signs of a True Living Church” and “Revealing Jesus – Why we need John’s Gospel.” Other books are in the pipeline. His Book Contemporary Society – Key Issues Facing Pastoral Ministry is coming out in 2022.
